Wren turns one year old | General
I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone; I seemed to have blinked and missed it! From puppy to adult Wren is now one years old, 14th January being her birthday. So I planned a great day in order to celebrate; my parents came up North to spend the day with us and do some sight seeing. The plan was as follows:
Wait for my parents to arrive
Let Wren open her presents
Go for a walk around Sefton Park
Dinner at Brew Dog
Home for Doggie cake
If you have read the Christmas stocking blog you will already know Wren loves opening presents so when my parents arrived with a whole hamper of presents she was very excited; a bone shaped hamper I must add, so very fitting 🙂
As we strolled round Sefton Park taking in the sights, working up an appetite for later. A magnificent 235 acre park that has been awarded many awards such as; a green flag and green heritage site. Its beautiful features and monuments give it its great reputation; the park is overshadowed, by the majestic Victorian Palm House. A definite must see within the park upon visiting. Look out for a future blog for more details on Sefton Park.
After looking around for dog friendly pubs and eateries in Liverpool; we discovered BrewDog situated in the centre of Liverpool itself. The dogs can not only go into this pub but they also have a doggie menu food and drinks for our canine friends. The day we went there was around 8 dogs in total just sleeping away whilst their humans stuff their faces with burgers and chips.
BrewDog has the most selection of beers and ales I have possibly ever seen in one pub. With at least 30 lines on offer you aren’t spoiled for choice and for people like me who don’t like beer; I even found I drink that I would have again. A Berlinerweisse Mango a sour mango flavoured larger.
Oh and I could not mention the amazing burger menu that they have created. The chicken is to die for and is a must try, if chicken burgers are your thing. Unfortunately they had run out of doggie beer (on Wren’s birthday of all days) so we will have to go back to try their doggie menu 😉
And home for cake, the recipe for this cake will be in another post. But this were so fun to make using; apple sauce, oats, flour and honey. I must say they went down a treat; as much fun as I had making them did they eating them. They did turn out a lot bigger then I imagined but this was a birthday celebration, no one can have too much cake on their birthday right XD
With the whole day over and we reflect on the day it’s now time to relax and then start planning for Raven’s first birthday celebrations in July.
