After being found in a nature reserve on the edge of death, this plucky French Mastiff has had a long and tough journey. A member of the public found poor Elsa in the middle of a snow storm; Corngreaves Nature Reserve, close to where I grew up. Lucky she was in the right hand and found herself in the care on Animal House Rescue, a wonderful charity continually saving lives of animals across Sandwell & Birmingham.
When she was found the vets told the rescue she a dog who should weigh around 45kg; unfortunately Elsa weighed just 17kg and has been neglected and left for some time. This picture was taken just 13 days after finding Elsa and she had put on around 5kg, she was a fighter and certainly getting better by the day.
As Else became stronger and stronger she was finally able to go to a foster home; just in time for Christmas. Due to the patience and love of this amazing family she was able to rest and regain her strength to grow strong once again. As you can see she loved them too and felt very comfortable in their home.
It has been a long 3 months for Elsa but with determination from her and everyone around her the worst is over. I’m sure when it comes to the time when she is ready for her furever home; she will find herself with a queue of families wanting to spoil this lovely lady. Follow her journey on Facebook, Animal House Rescue; where you will find pictures from day one of her journey. If you wish to help support Animal House Recuse; visit their Facebook page where you will find all the information on how to contact them. She has touched the hearts of many and although she still has a long journey ahead, for now I leave you with this.
